BUILD WITH US
Communities without public art are more disconnected with less social support networks. Audiences need art that is accessible across a wide spectrum of income and ability levels so that all members of the community can participate.
Dance is a unique part of the cultural and social fabric of our society:
DANCE FOR ALL AGES, IDENTITIES, AND INCOME LEVELS
We provide affordable dance classes to children and adults at Loyola Park, Berger Park Cultural Center, and Lincoln Park Cultural Center. We are not only experienced professional artists, but also have expertise in pedagogy, accessibility and trauma-informed practices.
We support the development of new artistic works by focusing on support for artists themselves. We pay artists fair wages and value process over product so that our artists can do their best work and create high quality performances.
Our New Works program sponsors underrepresented choreographers with a focus on supporting women, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC artists. We connect artists with one another to share resources and develop their voices, fostering agents of change in the cultural economy of our city, nation, and world.
Synapse Arts has been a staple of the Chicago artistic community for the past 20 years. We bring free performances to accessible spaces and work to provide art that is accessible across a wide spectrum of income and ability levels so that all members of the community can participate.
Donate gently used dance shoes or apparel such as leotards and leggings to our dancers!

Video Lab is a program we started in January, 2023 where we regularly send short video works (anywhere from 30 sec to 5 minutes) to Synapse's monthly donors.
It's designed to give our artists a way to share work in progress videos with a supportive audience and give our supporters a way to get a regular dose of art in their inbox!
